Formerly
the Breast Cancer Early Detection Program. This local partnership of
the Cancer Detection Programs provides free breast examinations and
mammograms to women 40 years of age and older with moderate incomes,
little or no health insurance in Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado,
Mono, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo,
and Yuba Counties.
The
partnership also has a Lesbian Task Force that welcomes additional volunteers.
The task force plans and conducts outreach to the lesbian community
regarding breast cancer screening and early detection and other health
issues. The task force also makes available to the community the Sacramento
Area Lesbian Health Resource Guide.
