Less Common Gynecologic Cancers

• Cancer of the vagina, vulva and fallopian tubes are rare.
• These cancers share some of the same risk factors: increasing age, especially after age 50; history of gynecologic cancer, especially cervical cancer; and/or history of genital warts or HPV (human papillomavirus) infection.
• Early detection includes regular recto-vaginal pelvic exams and Pap tests (usually every 1-3 years).
